Miles Offgrid is the digital workshop of Miles, an Engineer by training and Technology Architect by trade. According to the lore, the first upgrade Miles ever did for Travis was installing a subwoofer in his car back in the High School days. It all started in South Georgia, where Miles began his career in DIY electronics by installing car stereos for his friends. Over the decades, those simple audio builds evolved into complex offgrid power systems and satellite operations.
This site follows Miles and crew as he documents the engineering behind a lifelong passion for exploration. As a group of friends who have known each other since High School days, the crew has been traveling together for years, from the humidity of the South to the rugged landscapes of the American West to warm Winters in Florida.
These DIY projects have been proven in the most iconic environments in the country, including the Badlands, Monument Valley, and the Tetons. Whether it is a major cross-country haul to Moab or a summer weekend in the Appalachians, the goal is always the same: push the limits of self-sufficiency, enjoy the laughs around the campfire, and leave every campsite better than it was found.
